Learn from student and community change-makers in the Shenandoah Valley!
Hosted by Eastern Mennonite University and Sustainable Shenandoah Valley, this event offers the chance to learn about the undergraduate research and initiatives, as well as networking opportunities with local businesses, nonprofits, and social or environmental enterprises. This year’s summit will highlight the intersectionality of sustainability, including issues of environmental justice and action.
The primary focus of this summit is to showcase projects that relate to one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, many of which overlap with values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We want to facilitate connections between local organizations and students at Sustainable Shenandoah Valley member institutions - Blue Ridge Community College, Bridgewater College, Eastern Mennonite University, James Madison University, and Mary Baldwin University - to celebrate the initiatives that already exist in the arenas of social and environmental impact, and inspire attendees to create their own.
